Hi I'm Jason, I'm completely obsessed with the web, tech, social media, podcasting & all things Apple. I love eating sushi and flying helicopters & airplanes. Want to talk about it?

Being a pilot, looking off the wing of an airplane is a familiar view, but this really caught my eye.

Small business vs. scalable startup. There’s difference. Which one are you aiming for? Small business is to self employed/lifestyle business as startup is to: a.) changing the world b.) world domination or c.) screw the world I’m changing the universe. My take is they’re all great and I’m a huge fan of each -don’t dis any of them; we have to start somewhere; and yes there is a difference.
This is fascinating. I love watching Adam & Jamie, I love watching the entire MythBusters team. But I had no idea Adam & Jamie are not the proverbial two pees in a pod; well, outside of MythBusters anyway. That said, the respect they have for one another and their focus on what’s right versus who’s right appears to consistently produce better results, they’d even say the best results. Very cool.

Meet Charlie Sheen my pet groundhog who lives under the shed in the backyard. This picture was one of the last times I saw him before he zonked out for the Winter. I haven’t spotted him since but stay tuned; my furry little weather man is bound to popup sometime today.

Perform maintenance on the Campus Wide Information System (PeopleSoft) and maintain all systems descriptions and documentation. Perform upgrades, application patches and all other maintenance on the test, demo, development and production databases, process schedulers, web servers and file servers for the student, financial and campus portal systems; that's a mouthful but that's what I did. Work alongside the Lead Database Administrator and Security Analyst ensuring all systems and environments abovementioned have the required patches applied, including identifying new patches, verifying upgrade paths and requisites for patches, downloading, building installation projects, preparing custom installation documentation, and ultimately performing the actual upgrades while keeping highly detailed and organized records. Cleaning and maintaining databases after audits and upgrades, verifying and repairing or removing broken queries and cleaning out dead tables, views, indexes and records, which requires working closely with a team of Enterprise Application Analysts in their specialized areas and during security issues or regarding account creations, with the Security Officer.

Although Barnes & Noble isn't exactly a "book shop" (it's kind of like the Best Buy of bookstores) somehow it's still cozy and I like their stores. There's just something about books guess. Whether a cute little local shop like Argo's, which is the best used bookstore in town, or wholesaler like B&N where I can pick up new releases, I'm just glad we have the book retailers in town that we do. What do you think? Are you one of the lucky that still has a "Shop Around the Corner"? What do think of the larger chain stores like B&N?
